An artist of the British school, Davis
executed genre scenes and urban cityscapes but mostly recognized for his
paintings of animals and hunting
scenes, he exhibited
in London from 1877 to 1884 at venues such as the Suffolk Street Gallery
amongst many other exhibitions.
Davis spent much of his efforts focusing
on the anatomy
and movement of both animals and people, always striving to make them appear
accurate. Also of interest to him was the effect of different kinds of light
both on landscapes and interiors.
His skill as a painter is immediately recognizable,
earning him a lasting place in the history of art.
