Artist's statement

Sinead Lynch graduated from the Polytechnic of Central London in 1992 with a BA (Hons) degree in film, video and photographic arts . She then spent a year in the Baltic states (former Soviet Union) before travelling to Asia to work with the French news agency, Agence France-Presse for four years based in Hong Kong.



After the handover of Hong Kong to Chinese sovereignty, she left AFP and travelled independently in Asia photographing countries such as Vietnam, Burma and Laos. She returned to the UK in1998 and started working for the Times Newspaper covering news and feature stories.



She has had work published in many magazines and newspapers including, Time, Newsweek, Life, The Times, Virgin Books, the BBC and The Guardian.
